Museum audio guide app is a mobile experience designed to enhance museum visits through intuitive, accessible audio storytelling.
Helping visitors connect more deeply with artworks while navigating exhibitions at their own pace.

I led the full UX/UI design, defining the product flow, interaction patterns, and visual direction to support an immersive yet unobtrusive on-site experience.

Context

Museum visits often involve large amounts of information and limited guidance, which can overwhelm visitors and reduce engagement. At the same time, digital audio guides must feel trustworthy, easy to use, and genuinely valuable to justify adoption.

Challenge

Design a fast, intuitive way to explain artworks and exhibitions without distracting users from the physical space. The experience needed to reduce cognitive load, provide clarity, and support different visitor profiles within a limited attention window.

Goal

Create a seamless and personalized audio experience that transforms museum visits into meaningful journeys of discovery. The solution aims to balance education and enjoyment, adapt to individual interests, and allow users to explore culture at their own rhythm.

"Tim is a family man on vacation in Barcelona who needs an English audio tour of the museum to enhance his experience. This is because he doesn’t speak the local language or know enough about the subject."

User persona & Problem statement

Tim´s goal: to enjoy a fun and educative day at the museum with his family

Anna´s goal: spend an afternoon at the museum with her designer friends, learning about art.

Usability study: findings

Round 1

Users had trouble finding the filter button.
Users got confused by te main play button.
Users need a clearer path to the home page.
